When Will UK Travel Isolation Restrictions End?

The UK has already seen a surge in international property interest given the influx of the coronavirus vaccine and the supposed end to the isolation period.

Although enquiries have dramatically increased, travel restrictions have limited the amount of international sales in Prime Central London. Due to the heightened cost of residential real estate in this area, buyers are reluctant to purchase without in-person viewings, despite virtual tours.

The UK rules include an isolation period of 10 days after travelling into the country. This also includes the necessity of three separate COVID-19 tests, one before flying and a further two during this quarantine period. As buyers are hesitant to dedicate themselves to this, we have found ourselves lacking in international presence.

However, a new taskforce is set to review the UK's global travel restrictions, reporting on the 12th of April. This should leave a clear outline for the future of international travel and the earliest that rules may begin to be lifted. At the current moment in time, restrictions may only begin, to loosen on the 17th April.

Once lifted, international travel can commence and viewings may return to normal allowing for overseas buyers to complete their purchases fully informed.
